Avionics installations require special knowledge, skills, test equipment and tools. The System Fifty is a two-axis autopilot which includes heading pre-select, turn command (which will give up to 90 standard rate turn), VOR / LOC tracking. Genesys Autopilots must be installed by an authorized Genesys dealer, unless installed in a home-built aircraft. Manufacturer does not allow mail-order sales of Autopilots/Flight guidance systems to owners of Certified Aircraft.

A multitude of autopilots are available from a simple altitude hold only to a full two axis autopilot with glide slope capture, vertical speed control, and dual mode intercept. All Genesys autopilot systems use common hardware, servos, and sensors throughout the product line which offers you significant advantages in serviceability, reliability, and overall cost. Genesys also believes in a building block philosophy which allows installation of an autopilot today as a foundation, and upgrading to a system with more features and functions at a later date.

You can expect safety, reliability, and performance whenever your autopilot is engage. In general aviation singles, light twins, and turboprops, Genesys's rate based autopilot systems have a number of significant advantages over attitude based systems. Optional Directional Gyro priced separately. SYSTEM 50 consists of the Programmer/Computer, Turn Coordinator, Roll and Pitch Servos, and Absolute Pressure Transducer. This provides precise, instantaneous altitude and pitch control data and is independent of the aircraft vacuum system. Pitch axis signal inputs are derived from a reliable solid state absolute pressure transducer and the accelerometer, not the artificial horizon gyro.

The system Programmer/Annunciator/Computer unit utilizes the same roll axis circuitry as System 40, plus an accelerometer for short-term pitch axis stabilization, and automatic interruption of altitude hold in severe turbulence. The SYSTEM 50 Autopilot provides all of the features of System 40, but with the additional feature of altitude hold.
